Decided on a lark to go through some old chapters of Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro I had on my hard drive. Discovered that this page actually does have a sekrit message hidden away in that QR code.

As it turns out, this was sufficient to wake up my old RP muse for Denjin HAL.

How does one determine what's on that kind of code?

The barcode scanner on my phone reads/translates QR codes just fine. I've been using it like crazy today, l-lol.

I was about to say - the only way I'd ever seen QR codes read was via cellphone. But oh man, your phone has a barcode scanner?! That's...that's so cool!! I wish my phone could do that! I wonder if there's any other way to read them. :|a

and ACCORDING TO MY TOTALLY INEXPERT TRANSLATION it's something along the lines of: "Offer your brain (to me); (you are my) slave/subordinate; my name is Electronic Person HAL." Not 100% sure on the exact translation of that second line BUT THE SENTIMENT IS PRETTY CLEAR.

I freaking love when authors/artists throw in little touches like that, especially when they're a bit more subtle. I always want to translate anything I see in wingdings/some sort of symbol font in art/whatever to see if it translates and it often does and i'm like 'teeheehee.'
