New journal layout, not really new default icon! this calls for an updaaate

⇁ feels like every single time I try to write something these days, I get stuck on one little snag that just ruins my motivation all over. arghghgh. Despite this, am still going to try and get some fanfic knocked out.

⇁ school has started again, and with it comes another snowpocalypse. BIG SURPRISE, AMIRITE hahaha but seriously it looks like there is just an impenetrable white mist outside my window right now, sob just go away already

⇁ Kanye's latest album is actually pretty good, y'all. More old news, I know, but it's on my mind at the moment so lol whatever

⇁ impulse apped Gabranth to Il Promenade, though I've yet to see how this will turn out; if all goes well, though, I plan on taking one of my OCs there. In other RP-related news, I need to stop being lazy and finish up the goddamn log post already (and make a new one, at that). ... crap, and I'm supposed to be working on that RubyQuest RP too FFFFUUUUU

⇁ aaand on the subject of AIMRP junk, HERE HAVE ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE CHARACTER SURVEYS HAHAHA.

Name: Bifrons (alias "Jan Vierste")
Species/origin: unknown

Strength: A+ (Ex w/manifest)
Endurance: A (Ex w/manifest)
Agility: C-
Magic ability: F
Luck: B-

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
5'10"; broad-built and fairly muscular.

2. How old is he?
He considers himself to be slightly older than Buer, but that doesn't make his actual age easy to discern; like Buer, however, he looks to be in his late twenties.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
His posture reflects his confidence; the only time he might not ever carry himself well is when he's moping.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
His health is in perfect condition, and considering his manifest ability, it would be difficult for him to be out of shape.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
His movements are usually very coordinated and deliberate, though sometimes he can be a bit clumsy on his feet.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Very attractive, though not quite so much as his other brothers; still, he has no lack of confidence in his looks.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Mostly tan, and only one significant scar trailing down the top of his right thigh.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Black, thick, short enough to keep him from being able to tie it back (but still somewhat long), and naturally wavy; if he kept it longer, the waves would be more apparent. (He fusses over it more than he cares to admit.)

9. What color are his eyes?
Dark gold, the same as the rest of his brothers.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Physically, none.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
His shoulders, arms and hands.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Mostly dressy; he does own a wide array of suits due to his job, but he prefers to keep at least some amount of variety between them.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Always. If an outfit doesn't fit him perfectly, he simply has it tailored; if he can't have it tailored, then he replaces it entirely.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
His idea of dressing casually is simply losing the jacket and tie of his suit.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Boxer-briefs, preferably black.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Mid-range, about the same as Buer's (though their voices could hardly be mistaken for each other).

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Usually evenly, but he tends to take more time with his words in delicate or serious situations (or when he doesn't want to seem like he's hesitating).

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
None in particular.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
He speaks several languages with varying degrees of fluency, though only those that are spoken with high frequency in and around Anchor.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
He tends to use casual registers more often than perhaps he should, but other than that, no.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Yes to both; he's good at bullshitting, but also prefers to give his words more thought.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
His level of eloquence depends entirely on the situation. In a meeting with potential business partners or city councilman, he can be very well-spoken; when dealing with his criminal partners or people he trusts, he tends to be much less so.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Very intelligent, though almost entirely street-smart; virtually everything he knows now, he's learned by doing himself or through other personal experience.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
As with his words, he prefers to deliberate, but does most of his thinking and planning on the fly.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Intuitive, but practical; after too many close calls, he'll never not trust his gut again.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Virtually nothing formal; Quinn gave him and his other brothers a basic enough education, and everything else he knows he has learned through countless amounts of practice and experience.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
He's managed to develop a good business sense, and he's also a highly skilled physical fighter, even without the aid of his manifest.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Extrovert.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Usually cheerful and laid-back (though in regards to his work attitude, some assistants of his might substitute "lazy," "impulsive," or "often irresponsible"), but he does have a few highly-sensitive rage triggers.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Always suspicious, but he tries to be assertive and go on the aggressive first.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Act.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Fight.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
All of the above, though his ego is a little too sensitive for him to appreciate jokes made at his expense.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders?
No.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
There have been lots, but the singular most defining moment would be when he was barred from the bridle and basically told by Azazel that he could never amount to anything.

14. What does he fear?
Being seen as inferior to anyone else in any sense of the word, or being considered "not good enough"; this inferiority complex is pretty much his number one motivation in life. He's also incredibly skittish during (or even at the thought of) thunderstorms, being terrified of both the thunder itself and the possibility of being struck by lightning.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
To be the greatest at whatever he puts his mind to. (Beating Bliss at everything ranks pretty high on that list.)

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
His inferiority complex, his fear of thunderstorms, his identity as a former Dark Regenerist candidate (and subsequent failure at the bridle), and a number of other details regarding his private life. Despite all this, however, he's still pretty open with loved ones whom he deeply trusts.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
The only person who has ever truly acted as his parent is Quinn, but because of his being disqualified from the bridle test, Bifrons is more distrusting and resentful of him than anything else.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Of his four brothers, the only one with whom he has any sort of positive relationship is Buer. Since their earliest youth, he's looked out for him and protected him from the others' bullying; after coming to Anchor, their relationship has become more tense at times due to the differences between them, but they've always managed to work things out in the end. As for the others, he can't stand Paimon or anything about him, he's fairly ambivalent towards Amon, and he has never actually met Amy.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Azazel technically counts as a "blood relative," and he loathes him. Whether Azazel feels the same in kind is never clear.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family?
No.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
The only people he might consider "best friends" would be Buer or Eames.

6. Does he have other close friends?
He tends not to keep people that close.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
He makes acquaintances very easily, and has a knack for getting along with just about anyone, even if only superficially.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Family.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed?
Not married, but in a relationship.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Yes, with a dashing thief named Eames—whom he originally thought was annoying as hell despite his attractiveness, but then the sex turned out to be amazing, and he gradually became more and more emotionally attached.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
His first was probably on some supermodel in a club he saw sometime shortly after his first arrival in Anchor, though even he couldn't possibly remember if he was asked. His latest was on a dashing thief who just happened to be hanging around his brother's coffee shop.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Intelligence, good-looks, and the good sense/trustworthiness not to sell him out or stab him in the back.

13. Does the character have children? If no, does he want any?
No. He hasn't honestly ever thought about it, but he probably wouldn't want any either, if only because of the danger in his line of work.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
He has various business (both legitimate and less so) rivals, but the biggest of these by far is Balore Bliss. Until Bifrons established himself as "Jan Vierste" and organized Janvs Associates from a federation of underground and black market traders and importers, the Bliss Syndicate practically dominated Anchor's economy; despite all of Balore's attempts to eliminate him (some legitimate and others less so), Bifrons quickly became savvy enough to build Janvs into the Syndicate's number one competitor.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
On the Kinsey scale, somewhere between a 2 and a 3. Although he's currently in a relationship with a man, he's only had (very limited) sexual experience with one man prior to that, as opposed to his long string of female lovers.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
He loves it, and it's important enough to him that he prefers to have it as often as possible on a regular basis.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
He loves to dominate (though not in any especially hardcore way), but he also loves to be dominated just as much. He also seems to be developing a taste for (at least semi-)public sex.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
Due to the circumstances of his creation, he doesn't actually have an astrological sign.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Neither. He's perfectly aware of the existence of deities and supernatural/spiritual entities (and has been known to use theistic expletives on many occasions), but he refuses to worship or recognize any of them as supreme.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Yes, though it might be considered a bit looser than most, considering it originated from his dealings with less-than-legitimate groups. If the safety of any of his loved ones was at stake, he would compromise anything.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Tolerant, but he really doesn't care unless it impacts him in some way.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
It's not exactly a prejudice, but he tends to be pretty dismissive of anything that could be a physical threat to him, despite his many run-ins with Bliss and his thugs.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Rich. Very rich. He is practically rolling in fat stacks of cash.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
His position as head of Janvs (and therefore a highly successful entrepreneur) actually gives him some celebrity status in Anchor. He rarely thinks of this as a blessing, but he does think it's a hell of a lot better than being a nobody.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
He owns an upscale penthouse, but these days he's been staying with Eames.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Anything that catches his eye for even a moment, and the more expensive, the better; he is all about the status symbols. (Of course, he also likes to buy nice things for the people he likes.)

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
Despite his impulsiveness, he is very good at his job, and he wouldn't trade it for anything.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
He rarely has much free time, but he usually spends it working out/training or reading.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
He tries to eat as often as he can, though he's the type who tends to forget meals (or even not notice when he's hungry).

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:

1. Color? black and red
2. Smell?
3. Time of day? midday
4. Season? summer
5. Book? anything that isn't serious lit?
6. Music? "Handlebars" lol
7. Place? Anchor
8. Substance? earth
9. Plant? ... idek.
10. Animal? tiger
