ALSO FUCK YEAH MARS. My first year in marching band, we opened our show with parts of that'un - right around 1:23. The brass marched over a gigantic ramp with a huge tarp with the earth painted on it, blaring that DUN DA DA DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN while the woodwinds were on the other side, investigating the colorguard aliens in their pods. And then it took off from there. Man that..that makes me really happy to hear it. Nostalgiaaaa.

Oh man, that sounds awesome. We play it as one of our stand ditties, but it's pretty short (and the trumpets all only have one note throughout the whole thing, so we play it upside down, fuck yeah).

...And fuck yeah, Mars! We almost got to do that in HS orchestra one year but then we ended up doing Jupiter instead. And we'd done Jupiter the previous year in marching band. And then we spent like the next three years playing Leonard Bernstein, like, 24/7, so we never got to do Mars at aaaaallll.
